Wireless Range

900 MHz boards operate most reliably when the antennas can "see" each other. Obstructions such as walls, buildings, trees, and terrain can reduce signal strength or prevent communication altogether. For best results, position the antennas for clear line-of-sight whenever possible.

Looking for a reliable wireless relay? These ProXR controllers offer wireless relay control for switching lights, motors, and devices with the XBee-PRO 900HP module.

900 MHz Relay

900 MHz relay boards use a small USB wireless modem connected to your computer to communicate with the relay controller. The modem appears as a standard COM port on your PC. Simply send commands to that COM port and the modem wirelessly delivers them to the relay board - that's all there is to it. These controllers use Digi XBee-PRO 900HP mesh networking modules to move data between devices when direct point-to-point communication is not possible.

Long Range Wireless RelayNot required when integrating into an existing XBee-PRO 900HP mesh network. Plug the 900HP-S3B (long-range) modem into the USB port of your computer. The modem installs as a virtual COM port, allowing your software to send data exactly the same way as a wired controller.

The modem can broadcast commands to all Wireless XSC-compliant devices within range, and can also be configured to communicate with a specific controller when multiple devices are present.

The modem is available at checkout.

The ProXR Command Set

Our onboard firmware is built around the ProXR Command Set - one of the most powerful and flexible command libraries available for relay control.

900MHz RelayThe command set includes a full range of functions for relay control, timing, configuration, and status monitoring, giving you precise access to every feature of the board.

Developers can integrate ProXR commands into virtually any programming environment using simple virtual COM port communication. For users who prefer not to write code, compatible control software is also available, built on the same command architecture.

Selecting a 900 MHz Relay Board

Choose how many relays you need to get started. Boards are available with up to 32 relays onboard and can expand to 256 total relays.

💡 Relay Pros Pro Tip:

Start by choosing only the number of relays you need today. ProXR boards can be expanded later, so there's no need to overbuy upfront.
